It should come as no surprise (even to those who didn't take a look at the poems list for the project, which I've been providing on this website all along) that a book titled "100 poems about depression, sex and love" is going to include some sexually explicit content. I know, shocking, right?!
Anyway, since this is the case, I though about how intelligent (or in fact legally possible) it would be to accept images from people who haven't yet legally reached adulthood. It's a valid question because, well, as it turns out there are LOTS of creative teenagers out there who are drawing rather sexual things. Really good things! And I don't usually ask people who old they are when I start a conversation (because I usually just don't care). In this specific case, however, I thought I should probably contact my lawyer again and make sure I can even use drawings made by adolescents for my book. You never know. Better safe than sorry. I wanna do things right.
I got a rather extensive answer to that seemingly simple question, but the short version is: Nope.
Also, that answer just cost me 300 Euros.
I'll never even remotely break even with this book. Already 1.400 Euros spent and I don't even know the printing costs yet. And I'm still in need of so many supporters! It's all about fighting for your dreams though, right? About putting in the work and the time and the energy. I have to do this. And I have to do it my way. Unless COVID-19 kills me first, of course.
